12 years ago, Tereza Lee, a high school music student and undocumented immigrant faced deportation. Listen to this powerful story that inspired Senator Dick Durbin to author immigration legislation known as the DREAM Act. "Whenever Senator Durbin talks about his commitment to the DREAM Act, which he wrote and fought for, he talks of Tereza Lee" (ABC7 News Exclusive by Theresa Gutierrez, 2012).

Vagina Monologues

When: April 26

Time: 7pm to 9pm

Description: NIU's production of MMRP is scheduled for 4/26 and 4/27 at 7pm each night.

These diverse voices rise up in a collective roar to break open, expose, and examine the insidiousness of violence at all levels: brutality, neglect, a punch, even a put-down.

V-Day is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM), and sex slavery.

Proceeds benefit Safe Passage DV.
